Recently, I had the honor to be apart of my best friend’s wedding day. Not only as a MOH but as her makeup artist as well. My beautiful friend Ashlynn Michelle Quirie is apart of the United States Army and her new husband Hunter James Quirie is apart of the United States Marine Corps. I can honestly say that these two have an undying love for each other and it was an complete honor to be apart of their day.
Ashlynn was the most beautiful bride to work on. She has the most beautiful skin which created an effortless canvas. The look she wanted for her day was soft, natural glam. Her, being a make up lover as well she wasn’t afraid of a glamorous wing and a pop of deep magenta on her lips.
Knowing that the wedding was going to take place around 6:00pm, I was sure to do all the other bridesmaids and myself before I started Ashlynn’s makeup. I wanted to have her makeup last through the evening with no problems. This wedding taking place in July, the weather was hot so I was very generous using my trusty MAC Fix+ to set her makeup.
I wanted to have very mauve and warm tones tie into her eyes to complement her choice of lip color. Her cheeks were kept bright yet soft. The contrast between her porcelain, fair toned skin and pinky cheeks was beautiful. We did a light contour to broaden her cheek bones and then created a light wing to tie things together. I kept everything blown out and soft which is a great technique when doing any kind of bridal makeup. I love to use accent lashes on a lot of brides. They create such a seductive yet sweet look for any eye. Most of all, they tend to not irritate the brides eyes. I want my brides to be as comfortable as possible. This being an evening wedding, Ashlynn and Hunter took the most beautiful pictures.
I love specializing in Bridal Makeup. I’m incredibly grateful that Ashlynn chose me to do her makeup for the best day of her life thus far. With her mauve tones and elegant eyes, Ashlynn was an absolute vision.
